I search this forum for "google doodle" and came up with no results. So I figured to post this link for your enjoyment:
http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2011/nov/23/google-doodle-stanislaw-lem-anniversary (http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2011/nov/23/google-doodle-stanislaw-lem-anniversary)
The article is dated 22 November 2011.

That doodle was discussed in this thread: http://forum.lem.pl/index.php?topic=938.0 (http://forum.lem.pl/index.php?topic=938.0)
And you can see that doodle here: http://www.google.com/logos/lem/ (http://www.google.com/logos/lem/)
It turns out (http://forum.lem.pl/index.php?topic=938.msg42613#msg42613 (http://forum.lem.pl/index.php?topic=938.msg42613#msg42613), thanks tzok) that waves shown in that doodle form encoded (in ASCII, of course) message: the looped text "LEMLEMLEMLEM..." :)

Thanks for the links. Wonder why the search engine did not find them, since the search phrase was optimal.
