In many forms of meditation, this is the goal. Here you can still go into the middle of a forest and listen to the silence, but probably not in many places anymore. That is pleasant. :)

 Well, in that case I'm sorry, I didn't understand. I meditate, and I know what You mean... Just didn't get it right ::)
Well, maybe I got confused because wetal used this term 'mental death'... I dunno, but it somehow doesn't fit to above interpretation.

Well...perhaps meditation is aiming at something pleasant, and mental death is something unpleasant.  :o
