Hello, new member here! I'm glad to have found this forum and the Lem homepage, he is my favorite author and I enjoy reading what other fans have to say about his work!
Today I would like to ask if anyone knows if Lem's novel Eden has ever been made into a movie. I'm fairly sure there isn't a version made by western countries such as the USA, but maybe there was a Russian version?
Eden is my favorite novel by Lem, I also enjoy the Cyberiad and stories of Ion Tichy and Pirx the pilot.
Thanks for any information!! :-*

I dunno. But I think not.

Hi, people! Great forum, it's big pleasure to speak about my favorite scifi writer (St.Lem, course ;-)
As for Eden Russian movie - unfortunately not... and ever no attempts to do it now and in the past. That's strange for me too, because Eden (IMHO - one of the best novels of early Lem) is very suitable for movie production... but alas!
BTW, except Solaris by Andrei Tarkovsky (of course you know this movie) there was Russian-Polish movie "Doznanie pilota Pirksa" ("Inquiry" from the Pirx stories).
Bye, Andrei

Oh yes, I've heard of it... but never seen it.
8) I'll make it somehow 8)

Me too. And me neither. And me too.
Cheers, Socrates

This title showed up for a couple of times on Polish TV.
BTW I think the Polish title is "Test Pilota Pirxa". It was made in 1978 and it beat up R. Scott "Alien" on the annual movie festival in Triest. :)

That's what I suspected :)

Haha, it proves all the rubbish about "Alien" that we're laying down on Polish forum :)

As i know it wasn`t filmed , and who will do it? Americans wth their Holywood ? Never they need stupid heroes with machine guns and lasers / kulemetamy ta laserammy/ dying during their struggle with alien spawn spilling the rivers of glittering and radioactive blood that can dissolve any material or tissues. If it doesn`t come to the scenery they don`t make movies.
HAVE YOU SEEN ?I ROBOT?
-
" I Robot " ? I've seen it, it's a waste of time. I mean Will Smith is a nice guy... but it just isn't enough. When it comes to writing an ambitious script, Holywood remains Holywood.

Holywood can make a "draw" from every book. Look at these funny pictures (PDF)

Pictures are hillarious...
Seeing Eden filmed would be, after all, something great. Who knows, maybe one day, when I meet some film director, I'll be able to convince him/her to film it :)
-
Yeah that would be great but you`ll have to find some talented film producer ,like Spielberg or Jezhi Hoffman.

Hard, just hard ;D

Yeah, these advertising are here in city libraries, but more effect it should take in multiplexes in my opinion...

Let me know then, because I was not able to get and read it yet.

Hehe, You better start with reading ::)

There`s one more intersting thing to be filmed it was written by Arthur Clarke and called "Rendezvous with Rama". If you like "Eden" you will like it.
-
It so happens that I've read "Randezvous with Rama"... it was good. And sure, I guess seeing a movie based on it would do the job.
