Well, congratulations! The questions are wisely chosen, far from being trivial (i.e. what is your dog's favourite morning meal).
You were lucky to be able to interview Lem.
Congratulations once again.

I totally agree. Very good interview.
One question, was a written interview? was in english or in polish?
Thanks

Sorry for this delay. I am a correspondent of a reputable newspaper in Iran (sharg newspaper). As you see I am Iranian and this interview has been published in Persian.

Question to Peyman:

Thanks skrzat.
Interesting questions.
Who would you describe the human lem.
I mean. the man beyond the intellect.
He seemed to be very concentrated, tired, old, or wise and overlooking all?
Please answer if you could, because I'm making a school-work about him.
-
He no doubt is wise, and I personally think he is a little tired of all the people running around him and asking him questions.
I know some of my friends don't like Lem because they claim he is not as wise as he thinks he is, and they get upset reading interviews with him...
They say what they want; it doesn't bother me.

Well, at least your friends knows about Lem, mine not :(

Heh it's quite hard to find an educated person in Poland who doesn't know who LEM is.
-
Really, is he so wellknown in Poland?
-
Of course ! (But notice, that I said educated people know him. By educated I mean those, who listened in school :) ) .
Lem has ,,his own two shelves" in every bookstore that sells SF, we have his books analyzed in elementary schools (I mean few of his stories, like ,,Mortal Engines''). Every SF fan knows Lem, at least those who read books (by this I mean that, sadly, there are SF fans who limit theirselves to watching movies and playing RPG and stuff...).
Besides, Lem is a known personality, very respected due to his age, experience and... high IQ (his is considered one of the wisest Poles, as his IQ is something about 6789... or some ;] ).

Don't you think he know the solutions of the test's? :)
Interesting, so wellknown.
If an author would taken through in our elementary school, he nearly is a legend.
Not only because kids are forced to know him :)

I got one question - has anyone noticed that Lem`s answer on:
What is your opinion about Internet? Is Internet a new revolution in human life?
Is precisely identical to one of his statements included in "Tako rzecze Lem", chapter on "Summa technologiae" (if my memory is correct)? I don`t know whether this book has any international editions, so my question would be rather addressed to the polish part of the forum, I suppose...
I mention my doubts here, because I read yesterday fragments of that book and I`m pretty mind-boggled with the similarities of these two texts:-? I don`t think that it would have any special meaning, whether my speculations are correct or not, but it would be interesting to now if Lem has such "standard answers" - implicitly to get on with the avalanche of interviews and people expecting his opinions...
Am I wrong? Could anyone check this? I don`t possess the book so I can`t do that by myself...

It is true. Sometimes Lem's answers to the typical question are based on the last edition of this book. It is a kind of Bible, where he presented his basic opinions. 8)
